Welcome back. If you haven’t already completed the activities from week 1 and 2 please take a minute to look back over the previous materials. Some of the info from the previous activities will be essential for completing this week’s activity.
There is a new Bandlab Task to complete and this week we’ve taken things a step further; this time we’ll start to consider some musical analysis of the track we’re putting together. As in previous weeks, David Hindle from the band Kula Bay has helped us to put this song together. This is a track he’s written especially for Virtual Priestley in an 80’s production style but there’s a but of a 50’s vibe in there as well reminiscent of artists like Elvis Presley and Buddy Holly.
David is an ex-student from Priestley and now works with us helping to support students in the music department. Don’t forget to check out his band Kula Bay.
This weeks instructions:
1. Log into Bandlab using the instructions from week 1
2. Complete the tasks in order – hopefully you’re up to Task 3 now but don’t worry if you’re not there yet. Written instructions are provided in Bandlab as an attached PDF
3. Click on the link provided to access a musical analysis form. The form is interactive and you will learn about musical devices, rhythms and chords relating to to this week’s task.
If you have any problems or if you’d like to ask a question please get in touch with us.
