Engineering Session 3: Bridging the Gap from GCSE to Level 3

A lot of our course content is based on what you have already learned in maths and physics (or science) at GCSE. In particular it would be helpful to spend some time going over the topics below (links to BBC Bitesize resources are provided).
– Electric circuits
– Forces
– Rearranging formula (you are given an extensive formula booklet in the exam but do need to be able to rearrange)
– Trigonometry
Sometimes it’s fun to think of different scenarios in engineering. Watch the clip of the physics of lifts on TedEd and have a go at the questions.
Don’t worry if there is a topic you found difficult at GCSE as long as you have enthusiasm for engineering we’ll work with you to help you understand and achieve.

The resources below are here to help you with this session. The documents can be downloaded to your device and web links can be viewed online.

What to do when you're finished ?

Keep a copy of your work safe until your first days at college. Bring it with you for your first lesson in this subject.

My To Do List

This list shows you all of the different activites available through Virtual Priestley. You can tick them off as you go.

Don’t feel you have to complete every task, just do the ones you think are relevant to you.
