This session will provide students with an introduction to the AS and A level English Language courses. Students will have the opportunity to read and analyze articles on a particular language issue. The issue to be discussed is the overuse of the word ‘like’ particularly in the classroom setting. Students will have the opportunity to engage with multiple resources including a video clip from the popular television program ‘Love Island.’ This session culminates with the opportunity for students to express their opinion on the title question.
