English Language with Forensic Linguistics: An introduction

The materials here allow you to get a sense of how we look at language in the AS and A-Level English Language course. There are four resources and it is important that you go about them in the right order.

1. Introduction to AS English Language with Forensic Linguistics: introductory video presentation
2. A downloadable activity booklet with all the materials you need: instructions are in the video (see 1) and in this booklet.
3. Forensic Linguistics Task Answer: a short video that goes through the answers for the activity booklet.
4. If you enjoyed ‘Forensic Linguistics’, you can explore this exciting profession in more detail with this podcast from BBC Radio 4’s Word of Mouth programme: all about Forensic Linguistics – using language analysis to solve crimes.

The resources below are here to help you with this session. The documents can be downloaded to your device and web links can be viewed online.

What to do when you're finished ?

Keep a copy of your work safe until your first days at college. Bring it with you for your first lesson in this subject.
